Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease of the brain that slowly impairs memory and cognitive function. Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life.

The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or dementia is very distressing for both, the individual and their family and friends.   • Engage individual with mind-stimulating activities including taking walks, singing songs, reading, talking, telling stories, doing puzzles
  • Providing prevention strategies for wandering, resistant, combative, and sundowning behaviors
  • Accompanying individual to social events and activities in the community
